On the palate it is balanced with good body, with velvety tannins and good freshness. The finish is long and persistent. Red Meats
To enhance all its richness and allow the various components to blend perfectly with each other and give us a fully expressed wine, but capable of a very long life, Barbaresco Riserva ages for 2 years in traditional large Slavonian oak barrels, which contribute to make it harmonious and balanced and increase the finesse of the bouquet. It completes its refinement in the bottle for several months and can only be marketed approximately 4 years after the harvest. The maturation plateau of Barbaresco Riserva exceeds 20 years. The color is intense garnet red, gradually permeated by orange reflections over the years. The scent is intense, ethereal, with a clear hint of tobacco, dog rose and spices. The goudron is notable. The flavor is elegant, with well-expressed, abundant, but balanced and pleasant tannins.

It was born in 1982 as a selection of a part of the Martinenga vineyard towards Asili and is produced only in the best years. Its slightly more international taste due to the aging in small French wooden barrels has ensured it notable successes. The structure is noteworthy and always coexists with that class and elegance that only Martinenga can provide. It has great capacity for evolution and is rewarded when paired with game as well as important second courses and mature cheeses.
