The Tignanello of the Antinori winery, the progenitor of the successful Super Tuscan family, is produced with Sangiovese (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) grapes. The wine takes its name from the 47 hectare estate of the same name, located at an altitude between 350 and 400 m above sea level, characterized by a soil of limestone origin with elements of tuff and a perfect south-west exposure. The grapes are macerated separately at a temperature between 27ºC and 31ºC, aged in barriques for 12 months - where they are subjected to malolactic fermentation - and are then assembled and aged in the bottle for another year.
